The surprise was....

We went to a Bowling for Soup concert! They didn't even come on until 11 P.M. and then I didn't get home till about 1:30. I don't quite know how I am functioning right now....

The concert was good.

On a school note...I am tutoring a new little girl and I absoultely love tutoring her! She is a pure joy. She is me as a child and we also have the same name. We are working on multiplication facts and she impresses me day after day.

Getting Ready for the Holidays

Greg is being a Grinch and doesn't want to put out Christmas lights because he says our electricity bill will be too high.

I am enjoying watching The Holiday now with a warm fire burning in the fireplace.
I wish I had more Christmas decorations since I LOVE this time of year however, we leave the day after Christmas so I don't get to enjoy them for too long.

Tonight Greg has a surprise for me. We are going somewhere with another couple who just got engaged. I will update later on what the surprise is.

1st 9 weeks done

The first nine weeks is over officially. Report cards were sent home this week. I had 8 A students 4 A-B students and 1 student with A,B's and C's. All in all I thought pretty good. This second 9 weeks is going to be tougher. I am rethinking teaching ideas for next year. I want to create some great fun little math center games to reinforce skills.

1st Field Trip

Our first field trip is Tuesday. I am sure I will have funny stories to follow.

Coming out of the Closet

One of my students today said I am 99 percent girl/1 percent girl. This student is a boy! Wow! Funny but concerned!

Spanish

No Bueno! Muy mal!

My kids will not do their homework for Spanish. The teacher is so frustrated with this. However, I have her child and she sends him to afterschool care to get his homework done. She does not study with him. Ok enough is enough! She just aggravates me so much.

Swine Flu

A parent emailed me yesterday telling me their child had swine flu! O joy just what I needed to hear after I had been feeling sick all week long. Third grade has been a journey and will continue to be one.....week 7 starts tomorrow and I hope I am making an impact on these kids. I had my first parent/teacher conferences last week and know more what I need to be working on.
